New Business and Lifestyle Magazine – Affiliates Magazine (ISSUE 1 – 2011)
Douglas Wemyss Solicitors LLP of Leicester are extremely excited about our new venture that we have launched in conjunction with 5 Leicestershire businesses – A one of its kind Business and Lifestyle magazine called Affiliates.

Affiliates Magazine will be published quarterly, and will be available to over 2,000 businesses as well as be available for free in the lounges at East Midlands and Birmingham Airports.
As one of the five partners of the magazine Douglas Wemyss Solicitors take pride in that the 25% share of all five companies profit will go to charity. A trust fund has been set up where the profits will be distributed to both local and national charities. On the evening of the launch party, all proceeds from the monies raised through raffle/auction were donated to The Princes’ Trust.
Douglas Wemyss Solicitors are once again pushing the boundaries of traditional working practices. So far in 2011 alone they have already achieved great success with the opening of Leicester’s first Legal Shop on Evington Road, which offers free legal advice and initial consultations to the public and is open 7 days a week with no appointments necessary.
The firm has also won the prestigious award of “Law Firm of the Year 2011” voted by Leicestershire Law Society.
In this latest venture the firm is very much proud to be associated within the business world too; as much as they are legally focused they are also business minded hence the joining of this partnership. The firm has a desire to be forward thinking and having a new fresh approach to how it operates. They are the only solicitors in Leicestershire to be part of such an innovative move, and want to be recognised as pushing the boundaries and hope to show this direction with the magazine launch.

The magazine launch took place on June 9th at the very chic Chutney Ivy Restaurant in the cultural quarter in Leicester. The launch party brought hundreds of people to the red carpet event which turned out to be a huge success, even bringing some TV personalities to the launch party.
